Job Purpose

To provide specialized engineering expertise for the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems of the bank’s facilities. This role is critical for ensuring the continuous, reliable, and efficient operation of all critical building services, including power, lighting, lifts, generators, pumps, and fire protection systems at the Head Office and branch offices.

Key Area Of Responsibilities

Primary Duties (MEP Systems):

·       Lead the execution of the daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedule for all MEP systems as per the official checklist (Main Panel, Transformers, Generators, Lifts, Pumps, Bio Tank, ATS, Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels, etc.).

·       Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs for electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, sockets), mechanical systems (pumps, motors), and plumbing systems (water supply, sanitation).

·       Supervise and work alongside the M&E Technical Assistants to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

·       Oversee and monitor the work of external service providers (e.g., Fortune for lifts, Naung Yoe for fire alarms, ACT/EPC for transformers) to ensure compliance with service agreements and safety standards.

·       Manage the testing of the standby generator on a daily basis and ensure its readiness for automatic operation during a power failure.

Secondary Duties (Operations & Monitoring):

·       Monitor the performance of critical systems, including reading and recording parameters from the Main Panel (Volt, Ampere and Power Factor), transformers, and other equipment.

·       Respond immediately to emergency service requests and user requirements related to MEP systems.

·       Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of all plant rooms (Generator Room, Lift Room, Pump Room and Panel Room).

Administrative & Safety Duties:

·       Accurately complete all maintenance checklists and logbooks.

·       Raise requests for spare parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

·       Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment histories, and contractor reports.

·       Strictly adhere to and enforce all electrical safety procedures, Lockout-Tag out (LOTO) protocols, and other relevant safety guidelines.

Assist the Head of M&E in technical reporting and planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

·       A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing MEP systems in a commercial or industrial setting.

·       Proven expertise in electrical systems, generator operation, and HVAC basics is essential.

·       Experience with lift systems, fire alarm systems, and BMS is highly preferred.

·       Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and plumbing networks.

·       Troubleshooting: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex MEP systems.

·       Supervision: Ability to effectively guide and direct technical assistants.
