The Relationship Manager is responsible for growing the Bank’s deposit and loan portfolio, acquiring new customers, retaining and deepening existing relationships, and cross selling the Bank’s products and services in order to deliver sustainable revenue and portfolio growth.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Achieve individual targets for deposits, loans, revenue, and customer acquisition.
Acquire New-to-Bank (NTB) customers through market visits, referrals, networking, and lead generation.
Retain and grow existing deposit and loan portfolios through proactive relationship management.
Understand each customer’s business, financial needs, and cash flows to structure appropriate banking solutions.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, converting opportunities into quality business.
Cross-sell deposits, loans, trade finance, digital banking, payments, and other Bank products.
Conduct regular customer visits, calls, and meetings to strengthen relationships and surface new opportunities.
Monitor deposit balances, loan utilization, and repayment performance; take proactive retention and risk-mitigation action.
Prepare quality credit proposals, loan applications, renewals, and supporting documentation.
Partner with Credit, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Trade teams to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
Ensure full compliance with AML/KYC, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies.
Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline data, and performance reporting.
Provide market intelligence to identify new sectors, customers, and growth opportunities.
Represent the Bank at industry, partner, and community events, including roadshows, business collaboration forums, and networking functions, to build the Bank’s profile and generate new business leads.
Own end-to-end accountability for customer relationships, business results, and portfolio quality.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics or a related field; an MBA is an advantage.
Proven experience in Relationship Management, Sales or Business Development within Corporate, SME, Premium or Retail Banking.
Demonstrated track record in sales, deposit mobilization, lending and customer acquisition.
Strong communication, negotiation, networking and analytical skills.
