Directorate of Investment and Company Administration under the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development of the Union Government registered Shwe (Rural and Urban Development) Bank to incorporate as a limited company on 14 February 2014 and the Central Bank of Myanmar granted a banking licence on 28 July 2014. The Authorized Capital is Ks 100 billion and the Paid-up capital is Ks 60 billion. As per the said approval from the Union Government as well as the Central Bank, Shwe (Rural and Urban Development) Bank (Head Office) and Head Office Branch were launched on 11 January 2016 at the corner of Merchant Road and Pansodan Street, Yangon.

As every bank has a bank culture of laying down its own principles to achieve their business objective, in accordance with our bank culture Shwe (Rural and Urban Development) Bank also has formulated Vision, Mission, Our Commitment, Core Values and SHWE Must-Dos for every employee to observe.
